Movin' On Up

This Saturday we are movin' on up to a new cruise director. The cruise director is responsible for overseeing and running all of the entertainment aspects of the ship. He MC's shows and runs games and activities and such as well as acting as the manager for everyone in the entertainment division. Since I got on the ship it has been a guy named Keith, who I've liked pretty well (although he still jumbles his words every time he introduces the production shows.) On Saturday, Jimmy will be taking over for Keith. This only really makes one significant difference to me. The cruise director play-on. Up until now we have been doing this song called Move On Up which is crappy sounding and crappy to play. I estimate that we've played it somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 times. Thank the lord of jebus in heabon, now we get to play Soulman! Can I get an Amen!?
I'm currently buying a trumpet mouthpiece online because I have no ability to visit a music store to try things out. I wont lie, its a little frustrating. I hope I like it!!
I've come to realize that I haven't had more than 1 day in a row off from trumpet in over 3 months. Maybe this is why its been such a continual frustration to play it. I guess this is what happens when you aren't allowed to take a day off even for being sick.
I love my kindle. I wish I had figured out books were so great a long time ago. I have a lot of catching up to do. I've been reading the Ender series by Orson Scott Card. It's a nice science fictiony series that doesn't have that yucky contrived flavor that many science fiction books have. I recommend Ender's Game as a good starting point for anyone who wants to get into it (the books don't all have a particular order)
Hmm I let a cute girl borrow my flugelhorn, which I need tomorrow. Perhaps I should go fetch that...
